Designed by Olin Stephens in 1938 built by Nevins, City Island, New York, she won the Scandinavian Gold Cup in 1938, 1939, 1947 and 1948. She won the Seawanhaka Cup in 1957. The success is due to the tank-testing which led to the breakthrough in hull design, which produced such winners as the 12-metre VIM and the 8-metre ISKAREEN. She was rebuilt by Luders in 1957. Here she depicted in treble -imagery.....as she was in 1938, to leeward as she is now, and under Spinnaker as she will be in the future ! |
